The Algorithmic Revolution of Art
In the context of Fabrizio Ajello's residency at La Portineria Gallery, a conversation between art historian Valentina Tanni, philosopher and artist Francesco D'Isa, writer-programmer Gregorio Magini, and Alessandro.
"What are we talking about when we refer to the phenomena of computer-generated art (CG-art), of interactive art (I-art and CI-art), computer-assisted art (CA-art)?What are they and how do TTI programs, such as Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, DALL-E? There is now widespread debate about how (and whether) these new tools will affect the art system, including in relation to their impact on the concept of authorship, copyright, creative mass production. What are we heading for? There are thoseargue that these are "democratic" processes, expanding the pool of those who can make art net of technical expertise, while others deny their creative and commercial permissibility-whatever our
opinion, these are nonetheless tools that will influence our imagination and contemporary artistic practices. What is their relationship to dream processes and redefinition of the imaginary?"
