Towards a theory of the End
Entr’Acte x REINCANTAMENTO
(07 - 11 - 20)
The end of the world is a complex problem, it is grafted onto different planes, not only the ecological subsistence of human and non-human subjectivities is threatened, but it is immediately a political, existential, psychopathological and economic problem.
Starting from the article by Emanuele Mendozzi and Luca Giardino, Alessandro Y. Longo discusses with the authors.
Today, catastrophe appears as an opportunity to give a boost to the liberating forces of the future. The horizon of collapse can spur us to imagine new worlds and adaptation strategies.
Is it still possible to reimagine the future in the age of the anthropocene? Through utopian thinking, psychedelics and technology, resemantizing and overturning the meanings of the world could be a possibility.
Hacking, glitching, post-scarcity: through forms of liberation built with the technological and scientific knowledge of the late-capitalist society, humanity can reconvert the latter with the aim of creating a post-collapse society.
Full Metal Alchemist, by Hiromu Arakawa, is one of the manga/anime that has most directly addressed philosophical and occult themes, breaking through the veil of superficiality and lightness usually attributed to the shonen genre. Using tools linked to epistemology, esotericism, theology and moral philosophy, this event will attempt to make an initial recognition of Amestris - down into the core of the earth and up, even higher, into the cosmic mist of Truth. Claudio Kulesko will moderate the discussion between Alessandro Tartaglia,
Giulio Mastrorilli and Alessandro Y. Longo.

Full Metal Alchemist: the One, the Secret and the Power
(03-06-21)
Second appointment dedicated to an in-depth examination of Full Metal Alchemist. Through the analysis of the concept of matter and, more generally, of the metaphysics within the world of Full Metal Alchemist, we will delve into some philosophical knots linked not only to the work itself - and to its world building - but also to the search for the Elric brothers - and to the problematic connections with our world. Gioele Cima and Claudio Kulesko discuss this with Alessandro Y. Longo.
